This position is locates in the Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Branch of the Facilities Execution Division of the Facilities and Maintenance Department, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. This Branch is responsible for providing the engineering and architectural support required to maintain, repair, and alter existing buildings, grounds, and facilities of the Shipyard.
You must be a US Citizen. Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal & Regulatory Guidance. Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation. Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period. You must obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Prepares work documents (designs, specifications, cost estimates, etc.) for highly specialized electrical systems serving mission essential facilities overhauling submarines.
Conducts field investigations to provide highly specialized technical support to diagnose malfunctioning and non-functioning electrical and control systems.
Provides a practical and in depth working prospective of real world electrical applications, circuits, wiring methods, and systems to engineering during design and maintenance activities.
