Responsibilities:
POSITION
Summary:
Responsible for the performance, integrity and security of application databases which are likely to include planning, development and troubleshooting. Responsible for assisting with interfaces with other database systems and providing support for database environment planning,operations, and maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Establishes the needs of users and monitoring user access and security.
Monitors performance and manages parameters to provide fast query responses to front end users.
Maps out the conceptual design for a planned database in outline.
Assists in refining the logical design so that it can be translated into a specific data model.
Assists in further refining the physical design to meet system storage requirements.
Installs and testes new versions of the database management system.
Writes database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary.
Controls access permissions and privileges.
Develops, manages and testes backup and recovery plans.
Ensures that storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly.
Required Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
Requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical degree, and five to seven years of related experience
Minimum 2-4 years' experience developing and maintaining large and complex database environments using Oracle and SQL Server
Experience in developing, executing, and maintaining Oracle and SQL Server queries, transactions, and processes
Ability to write and communicate efficiently.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and utilize critical thinking skills.
US Citizenship with Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one
Qualifications:
Oracle database certifications a plus. 8570 Information Assurance certifications a plus.
