These positions are located in the Production Resources Department, Electrical Shop at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, ME.
Positions will be filled at the WG-05 level under the Worker Skills Progression Program. Position has growth to the WG-11 level without further competition.
Advancement to the journey level will require completion of training and work experience. Candidates will spend two years as a WG-05 Helper and after completing all required training and experience will progress to the WG-08 Intermediate level. As a WG-08, candidates will receive two additional years of training and experience and will then be temporarily promoted to the WG-11Journey level for one year. During the one year as a temporary WG-11, the candidate will receive additional training and work experience and upon successful completion of such will be permanently promoted to WG-11.
Position is a Helper to Intermediate Training Program, with known promotion potential to WG-2604-11.
You must be a US Citizen. Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal & Regulatory Guidance. Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation. Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period. This position is a Drug Testing Designated Position (TDP). You must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Assists Electronics Mechanics by performing less skilled duties of the trade.
Keeps journeymen supplied with tools and work materials.
Engages in joint operations with journeyman as instructed.
Utilize tools and machines to complete tasks.

Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.
